This is a poem that I wrote for a relative on his 50th birthday.
Today’s not the day to be thrifty,
Today’s the day you are turning fifty.
Till today you’ve crossed many a milestone,
In many fields your skills you’ve shone.
All these years the dreams you wished,
Many of them you have now accomplished.
An outstanding son, husband, father and brother,
A friend you are like no other.
So that’s why we are gathered today,
To celebrate with you this special day.
And we wish you such birthdays more,
and happiness and success like never before.
